Sanitary centrifugal pumps Maintenance

Sanitary centrifugal pumps Maintenance
1. Lubrication: Except for the motor which should be lubricated and maintained according to the oil and lubrication cycle recommended by the motor manufacturer, the pump body and pump shaft generally do not need to be filled with grease or lubricating oil.

2. If the pump is shut down for a long time, the residual liquid in the pump cavity should be drained to prevent the liquid from adhering.

3. Regularly check the wear of the impeller, mechanical seal and rubber seal ring. If damaged, replace them in time.

4. Mechanical seal replacement operation procedure:
1. Remove the valves and connectors connected to the inlet and outlet of the sanitary centrifugal pump;
2. Open the fastening nut connecting the pump cover and the pump seat (back cover), remove the pump cover and the O-type rubber seal ring;
3. Use a wrench tool to control the clamping nut at the front end of the impeller in a counterclockwise direction and remove the impeller;
4. Remove the damaged mechanical seal dynamic ring from the rear end of the impeller;
5. Unscrew the pump body connection bolts, remove the pump seat (back cover), and remove the damaged mechanical seal static ring from the pump seat (back cover);
6. Use a wrench to unscrew the bolts on the coupling one by one and remove the pump shaft;
7. After the damaged mechanical seal dynamic/static ring is removed, assemble the new mechanical seal dynamic/static ring in the reverse order of the above disassembly steps, and install the impeller, the impeller's fastening nut, the pump cover, etc. in turn.
8. After assembly, turn the impeller several times by hand. The pump shaft should rotate gently without abnormal noise. Otherwise, it needs to be reassembled. Note: Whether the mechanical seal is installed in accordance with the specification will directly affect the performance of the pump. Therefore, before assembly, all parts should be cleaned, food-grade silicone oil should be applied to the mechanical seal O-ring and the sealing end face for lubrication, and the surface of the new mechanical seal should be checked for scratches and damage. Be extra careful during assembly!

5. Consumable parts: rubber seal rings at the inlet and outlet, O-ring rubber seal rings at the pump cover, and mechanical seals for shaft seals.

6. If the following abnormal phenomena are found during the operation of the sanitary centrifugal pump, the machine should be stopped immediately for inspection and troubleshooting should be carried out in time.                                                                                                                                                                                                                         1. The motor is overheated or one of the phases is short (broken), and the current measurement value is too large or too small;                                                                                          2. The motor or pump body emits abnormal noise or abnormal vibration;                                                                                                                                                                                3. The outlet pressure gauge pointer of the sanitary pump drops;                                                                                                                                                                                              4. The mechanical seal' rubber seal ring is damaged, resulting in obvious leakage (when the sanitary pump is in use, the seal can be observed from the drain port at the lower end of the shaft seal to see if there is leakage. The mechanical seal leakage is <3mL/h,  the wear of the mechanical seal should be checked frequently).
